Anecdotes from a World Tour
It all began with my wanderlust in 1994/95, when I traveled alone to California, USA, for a year; ever since then, traveling has always held a special place in my heart. There is the allure of distant lands, a longing for the unfamiliar, and the kind of adventures you simply cannot experience otherwise. In 2014, I decided to publish—for the first time—the impressions I had gathered during my travels across the globe between 2000 and 2010. I have collected my photos here—capturing lasting impressions of people, foreign cultures, cities, villages, forests, mountains, lakes, rivers, and more—to offer you a glimpse into exotic destinations. °°° It is worth mentioning here that I was still shooting with my old analog SLR camera until 2005, and traveling back then—without mobile phones or GPS—was not exactly easy. Film supplies were limited, too, and there was a fair amount of gear to carry; on some trips, I brought along up to 100 rolls of film, and my camera equipment weighed 15 kg. °°°
