"Premio de Velocidad"
Motorcycle street racing for over 60 years
A few Facts:
It is one of the few places in Europe (alongside the Isle of Man) that has hosted the "Premio de Velocidad" race in its town center every August for over 60 years; the event takes place in La Bañeza, a traditional Castilian town in inland Spain.
Four categories compete: Classic 2-Stroke, Classic 4-Stroke, 125 GP, and Moto3 (Spanish participants only).
The first race took place in 1952. Despite a few interruptions, the 2015 event marked the 56th time the race was held in La Bañeza.

Preparations for the race are underway... the streets have already been cleared... the start/finish line is in place, and everyone is waiting for things to get started...
There is a small expo area specifically for the race...
As early as the day before the race, moped after moped adorned the city center...
..musical entertainment was always provided... whether by the street band or on the concert stages in the town center and at the campsite...
The chosen parking and camping spot was located in the city center at the La Bañeza sports complex... a highlight in itself!!!
On the first evening, there weren't that many people here yet... but by the next day, you could tell that more and more were arriving....
You could already tell that the city was teeming with mopeds... the big race was about to begin!
