Breakdance meets Airbrush

Our dance and art event was a huge success!
In this blog, we’d like to share a few impressions with you and, above all, say thank you!

A special thank you goes to everyone who helped out. We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to all the spectators and dancers. We never imagined that so many of you would show up—some of you even traveling from really far away. You came from Ingolstadt, Munich, Kempten, and Rosenheim—and those are just the places that come to mind right now; there were many more!

Thank you so very much. You all made us very happy!

We were particularly impressed by the fact that—regardless of age, gender, or background—we had a fantastic time and a lot of fun together.

The proof is in: breaking/hip-hop and airbrush art go together perfectly!
We are also very pleased to have received nothing but positive feedback!
We would like to express our thanks for that as well!

Last but not least, I still owe you the reveal of the little secret from the last post. You’ve surely all guessed it by now! Yes, it was the Funky Beatz hood with the music console that we built and designed for the event.

It was also great that some of you helped with the design by "tagging" the DJ booth. You might be wondering about the "Soundbox"—well, it produces sound. Unfortunately, it didn't get used due to the rainy weather. But that’s still to come!

Spoiler: Marysfarbklecks knows from a reliable source that something new is already in the pipeline.
Now, the Funky Beatz and Farbklecks team hopes you enjoy looking at the photos.

Breakdance by Funky Beats and airbrush art by Marysfarbklecks.

A mother and son combining two art forms—that’s just the norm in our household! After all, hip-hop/breakdance and graffiti/airbrush go hand in hand. With that in mind, we are excited to announce an event that brings both together.

When: Saturday, March 21, 2026
Where: Eberlestrasse 29 / 86157 Augsburg
What: Breaking and Hip Hop workshop (starting at 12:00 PM)
"7 to Smoke" Battle (starting at 3:30 PM)

Art exhibition by Marysfarblecks (starting at 3 p.m.)

Music, dance, and airbrush art—full of good spirits and fun.

In addition to the workshop, the battle, and the art exhibition—where some of Mary’s works are on display—there will also be a very special project to see and experience. We aren't revealing exactly what it is just yet. Let’s just say... we think you’re going to have a lot of fun with it.

We look forward to seeing you there!

A walk with a surprise

Unexpected things happen often
I could just as easily call it a "stroke of luck in disguise," though. This particular walk only happened because Felipe had been in a motorcycle accident a few days earlier. He had sustained a very painful contusion and bruising on his calf, which meant he couldn't drive himself. Being a caring mother, Mary decided to drive her son to school so he could take his exam. The dogs and I tagged along so we could go for a walk while he was busy. So, Felipe hobbled off on crutches to take his test, while Mary and I—with the dogs in tow—explored the surrounding area, specifically the abandoned railway park behind the school. That was where we later stumbled upon the surprise.

Before the Accident
Before we get to the surprise, I have to tell you that the day of the accident was also the day Felipe and I went skiing and snowboarding in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The trip was my Christmas gift to him. After a long break from winter sports, he wanted to try getting back on a snowboard. Since I’ve been skiing since childhood, I naturally had the necessary gear. I was able to outfit Felipe from my own stash—though only with clothing and the like, of course. The only things missing were a board and boots.

The Unexpected
Surprise Do you have any idea what the surprise was? Of course you do—after all, you’ve already looked at the photos. That’s right: we stumbled upon a snowboard, complete with bindings. When I took a closer look at the board, it was immediately clear that it was in excellent condition. It was just a bit covered in graffiti—no problem for an airbrush artist. After a quick brainstorming session, we packed up the board and took it to the *Zickenstube*. Thanks to a few bursts from Mary’s airbrush gun, it’s now shining like new again and ready for action next winter.

Felipe was amazed when he got back into the car after his exam. He was greeted from the back not only by the two dogs but also by a snowboard.

What would you call this? "Unexpected things happen often" or "a blessing in disguise"? Feel free to let us know in the comments.

Best regards from Augsburg
Mary and Felix

News from Mary's airbrush gun

As promised in the last blog, a quick update.

As I’ve mentioned before, our busy bee Mary has accomplished a great deal over the past year. In this post, I’d like to introduce you to some of her artworks.

**Fitting it all in**
2024 was a very demanding year for both of us for various reasons—including my surgeries, Mary’s retraining, and quite a few other things. That makes me all the prouder that we managed to achieve so much for "Farbklecks" alongside everything else. Mary, in particular, gathered a wealth of information regarding the legal requirements for setting up an online shop and put it all into practice.

**The webshop is in the home stretch**
We are happy to announce that we should be ready to launch our "Farbklecks Market" online in just a few weeks.

**New items for the shop**
On top of that, Mary found the energy to conjure up—as if by magic—several new artworks using her airbrush gun. Of course, it’s not actually magic, but a lot of hard work. Today, I’d like to show you some of these pieces and tell you a little about them. Our idea was to add smaller decorative items to the Farbklecks product range. To offer something for every size and scale, we’ve artistically customized a wide variety of household objects—such as mirrors, cabinet doors, glass panes, skateboards, vinyl records, and more.

**That’s all for now**
I hope you enjoy Mary’s new creations. We’ll be offering some of them for sale in the "Farbklecks Market," while others have already found a permanent home in our apartment or with friends.

Warm regards from Augsburg,
Mary and Felix

The year 2024

We are taking stock for the year 2024

Hello everyone,

We're back! Yes, unfortunately not much has happened on Mary's Paint Splash in 2024, but we've still accomplished a lot. What, you're probably wondering! We understand, and that's exactly what we want to tell you about in this blog.

First of all, we would like to wish you all a happy and successful year 2025.

Turbulent times
I can tell you in advance that we had a turbulent year in 2024! First of all, I have to admit that 1. I have no idea how to begin, and 2. it's true, of course, that there was nothing new to discover on the website.

Felix out of action
One of the reasons we put the website on hold was that I was sidelined by an injury. After three operations and a lot of rehab, I'm doing quite well again and it's getting better all the time.

Our chaotic gang, Fido and Enaya
Okay, enough of the bad news, there's plenty of good news to share! In February 2024, Mary and I welcomed two adorable four-legged rascals, named Fido and Enaya, into our family. Our two pups certainly keep us on our toes. It's no wonder I called them rascals. Both furry friends bring us so much joy, and our outings in nature are invigorating for both body and mind... better than Red Bull, coffee, and the like.

Mary is on constant duty
Another reason why there wasn't much to see on the website is that Mary was very busy with her retraining and studying last year. In addition, she also had to constantly act as a confidante, friend, mother, cleaner... er, housewife, nurse, and animal tamer.

Thank you so much, my love!
Besides dog training, surgeries, rehab, retraining, and all sorts of bureaucratic, household, and recovery-related tasks, we also accomplished a lot for Mary's Paint Splash. Mary worked tirelessly on new designs, projects, and our social media presence.

New bonnets for Mary
I wasn't quite as productive as usual. Yes, I spent most of 2024 focused on my recovery, but it's going really well! I still managed to take care of a few things, though. I was successful in organizing and procuring materials, and you can look forward to some new hoods.

A dream is coming true! The travel preparations are starting.
During the time when I was almost completely immobilized, I focused on planning our campervan. You probably remember that we're planning a big trip. We were able to buy the perfect vehicle, a Defender 110 Station Wagon, which we've christened Tigerlily, in April. The planning is almost finished, and we can start the conversion soon.

Problem solved...Hooray!
Perhaps you remember our "roof terrace or workshop dilemma"... I can tell you, I got a lot of flak for using the roof terrace as a workshop, but we managed to solve that too. Over the last few months, we cleared out the vaulted cellar and converted it into a workshop. So the roof terrace is a roof terrace again, but what can I say, our roof terrace always seems to have two uses. Now it's both a roof terrace and a dog play area.

sequel follows
If there's any news about the car or the workshop, I'll of course let you know. But I'm especially looking forward to implementing a project by and for you in the workshop soon.

The heart and soul of the paint splatter
Mary, our busy bee, the heart and soul of Farbklecks, has been incredibly productive in all areas, and I'm already looking forward to presenting all the new pieces to you soon. I'm especially excited to announce that Mary's Farbklecks art will soon be available for purchase. We will be offering selected pieces for sale here on the website and on Etsy.

Okay, I've talked enough now!
Mary and I are looking forward to 2025! Those of you who are curious can find even more news and interesting facts about the Farbklecks projects on Instagram and Facebook.

PS I'm especially proud of my sweetheart's posts. They turned out great!

A marble run on a world tour

Let us introduce ourselves:
We, Mary and Felix, designed and built the Marble Run together. You're probably wondering how?... a marble run on a world tour, and we even built it ourselves! We'll keep you in the dark a little longer! The story should be told from the beginning.
Before we begin, a few words about the two of us. We met this year and fell in love on a very turbulent Friday.

We quickly realized that we've both led pretty exciting lives and have experienced a great deal. Mary traveled extensively from a young age, exploring the world, especially Latin America, the USA, Asia, and Africa. I explored the world first as a soldier and later as a cook. As a soldier, I was deployed several times, and as a cook, I worked on ships in Europe, South Africa, and North America, among other places. These globetrotting years have shaped us both and are a major part of who we are today. It's all the more surprising that two people like us found each other, because the fact that we've both experienced so much is a perfect match. I think you now understand how we came up with the idea of a world tour. We want to travel the world together.

!! Wanted !! Exhibition space wanted !! Wanted !!
We find it very unfortunate that some of the works haven't yet found a suitable place to be displayed. If you come across a work while browsing the galleries that you particularly like and would like to exhibit, please get in touch with us. "Ownerless" The marked works are currently gathering dust in the attic, basement, or garage. We would be very happy if we could find a home for our "homeless" pieces
If you have or know of such a place, please contact us by email. [email protected].
We are happy!
